Meli Wraps
It all began in 2016 when Melia Foster realized that she would have to be the change she needed to see in the world. Melia was finding more plastic trash than shells on the beaches of her home, Kaua’i, Hawai’i. She knew her children deserved a better world than that, so she set out to help people rethink the way they lived without plastic.Meli Wraps was born out of a deep love for our oceans and the planet we all share. Melia Foster, the owner and Co founder of Meli Wraps, started the company with her childhood friend Nicole Galchutt as a means to reduce plastic waste locally, and some day globally. As a mom, Melia wanted her children and their children to be able to enjoy the beautiful beaches she had always known. Melia’s love for her family, the ocean, and wildlife of the world led her to create a product that would reduce single use plastic, support local beekeepers (and bees!), and provide jobs in the community she loved so much.
Meli Wraps estimates they've helped keep over a million pounds of plastic out of the oceans and landfills by replacing single use plastic wrap and plastic sandwich bags with reusable beeswax wraps. Each beeswax food wrap lasts for 150 washes and can replace several rolls of plastic wrap and hundreds of plastic sandwich bags! Meli Wraps are proudly made in Hawai’i with Hawaiian beeswax and 100% GOTS Certified Organic Cotton, because they believe in organic farms. They believe in helping to create the communities we live in, and for that that means creating jobs. They employ locals to design prints, make wraps, and ship orders. Their goal is to keep creating jobs by growing and adding new products that help us all rethink the way we live plastic free!
