As we pay more attention to what we eat, we strive for foods that are good for us, good for the planet and humane. Growing up in the agricultural mecca of California's central valley, there was no way around a love of food in its most natural state. After Erin Olivari received her Bachelors of Science degree in Business Marketing from San Diego State University, Erin moved east to New York City. It was there that she realized her true passion for diet, nutrition and food culture. She then received a Masters degree in Food Studies from New York University. During her studies she realized the importance of a plant-based diet for the health of our bodies and for our planet. Erin moved to Hawaii and started working on cheese alternatives with the goal of health and sustainability. "Cheese" made from tree nuts is full of healthy fats and satisfying like a traditional cheese, but without the animal. Using locally grown Macadamia nuts to create a simple, satisfying, and sustainable delicious vegan cheese was a dream come true.
