Ko'oko'olau Tea

$17.99

0.50 ounce

The Ko’oko’olau is an endemic plant to the Hawaiian islands chain and grows as small bush or shrub with yellow flowers. The entire Ko’oko’olau plant was used for Native Hawaiian medicine (La‘au Lapa‘au).

Hawaiians used the tea to promote good health, cleanse the body, prevent strokes, diabetes, constipation, and revive the appetite. It was also used to help people with stomach problems, colon and bowel problems, and those with liver complications.

Leaves of Ko’oko’olau are used as a revitalizing tea to bolster those distressed by general debility. The flowers were used to stimulate appetite and often mixed with Mamaki leaves to increase potency.
